Feathers - Spiritual meaning

"Each time you pick up a feather it is a reminder that you are on the right path and that your life is sacred again"

Some cultures believe if you make a little wreath of feathers and place it beneath a sick person’s pillow, it will speed their recovery.
In olden times, feathers were placed in doorways with the intent of halting wandering children from passing through, and were also burned beneath the bed during a difficult childbirth to ease the process.

The different colours of feathers are said to have different meanings....

White feathers for peace and calling a truce, peacock feathers for pride, red feathers for war and strength.

Finding a white feather is said to be a sign that your Guardian Angel has visited you and left you a feather from their wings to let you know that they are watching over you, guiding you, or to acknowledge your thoughts.

Different colours of feathers are said to have different meanings...

WHITE - purification, spirituality, hope, trust, faith, protection, peace, Heaven, angels, and also act as blessings and wisdom connected with moon.

RED - Physical vitality/energy/life/action, passion, emotions, courage.

YELLOW - Gut intuition, happiness, blessings and wisdom connected with powerful sun energy, intelligence, playfulness, joy, cheerfulness, mental alertness, vision.

ORANGE - Sex/physical relationships, love, appetite, attraction), energy, change, optimism, and ambition, success, new ideas, will power, creativity, physical love, new ideas, will power, independence.

GREEN - Love, emotions, relationships, forgiveness, health, healing, nature, environment, nature spirits, plant spirits, animal spirits, growth, fertility, harmony, unity, money, prosperity, success.

PINK - Love, romance, feelings, friendship, caring, compassion, harmony, service, empathy, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, honour.

GREY - Peace and neutrality, authenticity, flexibility.

PURPLE - Consciousness, spiritual connection), heightened spiritual growth and experiences, higher thought.

BROWN - Earth, stability, grounding, endurance, home, friendship, respect.

BLACK - Protection, warning, repelling or warning of negative energy, death (as in a closed chapter), mystical wisdom - a sign that you are initiation spiritual growth or wisdom.

A black feather that has an iridescent sheen or is shiny is said to be a sign of mystical insight. If the feather also has blue and white, change is said to be forthcoming. A black feather with white bands is said to signify home, harmony and balance. Black feathers with random white accents signify protection and union. Black feathers with purple accents mean a deep spiritual insight.
